Prescription Q&A
Which eyesnug frames can be fitted with prescription lenses?
Prescription lenses can be fitted into all eyesnug Originals, Viento and Explorer frames. This prescription-ready product has been created to make the process simpler, but other colours and lens versions from these models are also suitable for reglazing through Lensology.
The Pursuit model is not suitable for prescription lenses.
Can I get prescription lenses for eyesnug frames from a supplier other than Lensology?
You can but you should know that wraparound prescription lenses are more complex than standard prescription lenses. Because of this, many high street opticians may not be able to fit prescription lenses into wraparound frames.
We have chosen to partner with Lensology because they offer a strong combination of customer experience, good value, a wide range of lens options and extensive experience fitting prescription lenses into wraparound frames. For the smoothest process, we recommend ordering your prescription lenses through Lensology at eyesnug.com/lensology
Are the lenses included with this frame prescription lenses?
No. The frame comes with sunglasses lenses to enable you to test fit and experience before you order prescription lenses. The lenses will either be standard or polarized UV400 so you can use them as normal sunglasses if you choose.
Your prescription lenses are ordered separately through Lensology, who will craft and fit them for you.
Are these frames suitable for strong prescriptions?
The Originals and Viento frames are generally suitable for prescriptions up to +4 or -4. The Explorer frames are suitable up +6 or - 6.
Final suitability depends on your full prescription, lens type and fitting requirements, so please use the Lensology calculator below before ordering or contact Lensology for confirmation.
How do I order prescription lenses?
First, purchase your eyesnug frame from us. You can then order your prescription lenses directly from Lensology using our partnership link. Once ordered, you send your frame to Lensology so they can fit your new lenses and return the finished glasses to you.
Can I use an eyesnug frame I already own
Yes, provided it is an Originals, Viento or Explorer frame and is suitable for reglazing. You can check your prescription and lens options with Lensology before sending your frame.
How much do prescription lenses cost?
Prescription lens costs are set by Lensology and depend on your prescription and chosen lens options. You can use the calculator below to check available prescriptions and estimate the cost before ordering.
Should I check my prescription before buying?
Yes. We recommend using the Lensology calculator before ordering so you can confirm whether your prescription is suitable and get an estimate for your lens cost.
Who fits and supplies the prescription lenses?
Lensology supplies, crafts and fits the prescription lenses. eyesnug supplies the frame, while Lensology handles the prescription lens order and reglazing service.
How long will the prescription lens process take?
For wraparound frames, prescription lens production usually takes around 2–4 weeks, depending on the type of lenses you order and your prescription requirements.
Lensology handles the prescription lens production and fitting, so timescales may vary. You can view their latest estimated production times at https://lensology.co.uk/estimated-production-times/

3. Lens Index
Lens index refers to how thin and light your lenses are. The higher the index number, the thinner and lighter the lenses will be. If you have a stronger prescription or a large frame, upgrading to a higher index can make your glasses more comfortable, lighter and aesthetically pleasing.
