Walking and hiking sunglasses FAQs

Which Eyesnug frame should I choose for walking or hiking?

Explorer has a classic shape with side shields and a slightly more open fit. Originals is our widest everyday frame and has a removable foam insert. Pursuit has a secure sport-focused shape with a removable Snug Shield, while Cocoon offers a very close fit with a detachable strap. Check the measurements before choosing.

Are photochromic lenses useful on changing trails?

Photochromic lenses become darker or lighter as UV levels change outdoors, so they can be a handy choice when your route moves between woodland shade and open ground. Available lens options vary by frame.

Which frames give the closest coverage?

Cocoon has a very close-fitting shape, while Pursuit lets you add its removable Snug Shield when you want more coverage around the eyes. Originals also has a removable foam insert. None of the frames is sealed, so some air and particles can still get through.

How should sunglasses fit for a longer walk?

They should feel steady without pressing at the temples, nose or behind the ears. Compare each frame’s measurements with a pair you already wear comfortably, then try your new sunglasses on a shorter walk first.

Will close-fit sunglasses fog while hiking?

Close-fitting sunglasses can fog when you warm up or stop in damp air. Keeping the lenses clean and dry can help. Choosing a more open frame, or removing Pursuit’s Snug Shield or Originals’ foam insert, allows more airflow but gives you less coverage.

Out on the trail

Why walk with Eyesnug?

Made for the trail

Woodland shade, open hills and breezy paths can all turn up on the same walk. Eyesnug hiking sunglasses bring wraparound coverage and a choice of fixed or light-responsive lenses for days when the conditions keep changing.

Coverage for exposed paths

Close-fitting frames may help reduce direct exposure to wind, dust and pollen on open routes. Choose from more open side-shield styles or frames with removable inserts when you want closer coverage.

Comfort for longer walks

There is no single fit for every face. From the wider Originals to the close-fitting Cocoon, our range gives you different shapes to compare. Use the measurements to find the one that feels right for you.

From shade to open sky

Photochromic lenses adapt as outdoor UV levels change, polarised lenses can help with reflected glare and standard lenses keep a consistent tint. Pick the option that best matches where and when you walk.
